Gianfranco Grompone – BioGaia

Gianfranco Grompone is an agronomic engineer from ENSAR (France) since 1999 and did his PhD (1999-2002) at Pr. Dusko Ehrlich’s lab (INRA Jouy en Josas, France). He worked as a postdoc (2002-2005) at Pr. Philippe Sansonetti’s lab (Institut Pasteur, Paris, France) focusing on bacterial pathogenesis and then moved to Danone Research (Palaiseau, France) to work on probiotics selection and characterization at the R&D Department (2005-2015). He directed the microbiome program at Bioaster (2014-2016). He worked as the head of the bio-business and IP direction at INIA (Uruguay, 2016-2018). After a short period at Lesaffre International R&D, he joined BioGaia in Stockholm, as the Vice-President of Discovery and Research. He work on a translational approach to support clinically effective probiotic products for BioGaia.
