Kimmo Makinen is the Director of Scientific and Medical Affairs at Novozymes OneHealth, a company that develops probiotics, enzymes, and other active ingredients to improve human health. His work focusses on discovering and validating new functional ingredient opportunities using a mix of conventional and more innovative AI-enhanced approaches. With more than 15 years experience in the industry, he works with teams of diverse experts to see ingredients through from scratch to human clinical studies. Prior to Novozymes, Kimmo worked as the probiotic pipeline manager at Nestle in Switzerland, and prior to this, in the academia in the UK.
