Research opportunity for junior microbial scientists
Junior researchers wishing to start their career as a microbial scientist might be interested in the Top Talent Program from probiotic manufacturer and researcher Winclove Probiotics.
Winclove started the Top Talent initiative to offer young, ambitious researchers the opportunity to build their career as a microbial scientist and at the same time further innovate its probiotic formulations. Top Talents will get the opportunity to design and carry out their own 1-year science project dedicated to microbial/probiotic research. The program is available for European researchers who have just earned their MSc or PhD in the field of microbiology, food technology or related areas. The selected candidates will carry out their project at Winclove’s office, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where laboratory equipment such as bacterial cell-cultures, molecular microbiology analysis facilities (PCR, RT), lab-scale fermenters and drying systems are available. There is also the possibility to outsource laboratory services and analysis if needed. A senior scientist with valuable experience to learn from will guide the candidates during the year, and Top Talents from previous year will show your way around the Dutch culture. During the project candidates will receive financial and housing compensation.
Reviews from previous candidates
Katerina: “What attracted me about the Winclove Top Talent project is that Winclove is an international company focused purely on probiotic formulations. I could find myself between professionals where all the topics of conversations involve the probiotic microorganisms, and, in my opinion, that is the best way to learn something in depth. Plus; what a better way to start a career in a company that gives you the opportunity to design your own science project in the field of microbiota management.”
Anna: “The Winclove Top Talent program gave me the chance and resources to explore the interesting world of probiotics, as well as to start a new and challenging working experience and to spend one more year in the beautiful landscapes of The Netherlands.”
Winclove now welcomes ambitious researchers keen on developing their talent in an innovative biotechnology enterprise to apply for a Top Talent position. The application period is open until the 1st of September. The Top Talent Program will start around the 1st of October; the exact date can be discussed.
