Vitafoods Europe 2019: Unlocking the full potential of probiotics
Anticipated to reach $83.5 billion by 2022[1], the global digestive market is being fuelled by rising consumers awareness about the benefits of maintaining good gut health, with probiotics in particular, a big contributor. According to a report by market research firm Transparency Market Research (TMR), the global probiotics market will expand at 8.3 per cent CAGR from 2018 to 2026, amounting to a total value of $12,753.4 million by 2026[2].
Reflecting the pace at which the industry is evolving, Vitafoods Europe 2019 will bring back the Probiotic Resource Centre, one of 2018’s top attendee features. In association with the International Probiotics Association (IPA) and sponsored by Nutrasource, the zone will explore the key issues affecting the European probiotics market, as well as advances in novel applications and cutting-edge technology for probiotics. The Probiotic Resource Centre will also play host to a range of talks by industry stakeholders across two event days; Tuesday (7th May) and Wednesday (8th May). The schedule includes, Iris Hardewig, Head of Consulting & Strategic Innovation, analyze & realize GmbH, who will speak about innovation in probiotics and the market outlook, while Joshua Baisley, Director of Clinical Trials, Domestic, Nutrasource, will chair a panel on how to access the lucrative North American market by streamlining probiotic development.
