World Microbiome Day is celebrated on June 27th this year.
Diversity is the theme: the event will celebrate diversity of microbes, microbiome habitats and diets to feed microbiomes.
In addition, diversity among microbiome researchers will be spotlighted.
World Microbiome Day 2020 will educate and boost awareness of the significance of microbial diversity in sustaining the health of our planet.
Who is behind World Microbiome Day ?
Since its inception in 2018, World Microbiome Day events have taken place on all continents and reached global audiences online through website and social media channels.
World Microbiome Day was created in 2018 by APC Microbiome Ireland and is supported by the EU-funded project MicrobiomeSupport and the European Food Information Council (EUFIC). The events reached global audiences online through website and social media channels. Sponsorships are available.
Plan an Event
Events can also be local. According to the organizers, you can “create your own microbiome event – get together in the classroom, lab or research group and think about how you and your team can put microbes into the spotlight.”
Submit your event dedicated to the microbiome here. Check out the event map for an event close to you.
