IPA looks to expand probiotic success to new “biotics” categories
Following last month’s Probiota meeting in Barcelona Spain, the International Probiotics Association (IPA) announced a new and expanded scope to include Prebiotics, Postbiotics, and Synbiotics. (find out more here)
IPA’s expanded scope consolidates microbiome-modulating “biotics” categories under one umbrella organization. The association looks to attract new members as it brings best practices to the newly added categories while continuing to lead in Probiotics.
In extending its success in Probiotics to the Prebiotic, Postbiotic, and Synbiotic categories, IPA will provide a platform for:
- Needs identification and prioritization
- Education
- Standard setting
- Best practices
IPA will continue its solid path of driving and advancing the Probiotic category as it replicates past achievements in these new “biotic” categories.
More to come so watch for future updates. Stay tuned!
